In this time of divisiveness and turmoil in Wisconsin politics, I am proud to support Tom Barrett for governor.
Our fine state has been deeply wounded by one-party, autocratic rule in Madison.
I look forward to the restoration of a government system of checks and balances that requires two parties to debate, negotiate, compromise and consider the best interests of all the people — not just the rich.
Tom Barrett is a smart, principled leader. His thoughtful approach is the opposite of the “divide and conquer” mentality currently in power.
Tom Barrett’s conviction that all citizens have equal value transcends political rhetoric.
His commitment to protecting the vulnerable was heroically demonstrated in 2009, as he and his family were leaving the Wisconsin State Fair.
Responding to a woman’s cries for help, he called 911, and was then attacked by her assailant wielding a pipe.
Tom Barrett was seriously injured. He did not seek the international acclaim he received following the attack. He had simply stepped in to do the right thing.
Actions always speak louder than words.
Don’t be fooled by the propaganda that $25 million in campaign money can buy for his opponent. Tom Barrett will bring civility, calm and compromise back to Wisconsin.
