A call about smoke billowing from the eaves of a house at 203 W. Pine Street brought several River Falls fire trucks, an ambulance and police to the two-story home that sits directly across from City Hall.

County property records show the property is owned by Sheldon and Mary Hilden.

Initial radio traffic indicated that responders were evacuating the home; some people working the scene confirmed that everyone “got out OK.”

No flames were visible, and the smoke dissipated within minutes of the fire department entering the home. After about 20 minutes, the firefighters could be heard saying they were going to shut off the hose water then could be seen entering the home with big fans to ventilate it.

More details will be posted as they become available.
