A group of more than 100 people gathered the night of Thursday, April 26, at St. Bridget Catholic Church for the first Take Back the Night event held in River Falls that aims to raise awareness about and protest sexual and domestic violence.
Participants marched up and down Main Street, carrying signs and chanting: ““2,4,6,8; say no to date rape” and “Survivors unite, Take Back the Night.” Participants, including UW River Falls students designed T-shirts they wore then hung on the fence at St. Bridget’s. Other activities included live music and speeches by St. Croix Valley SART and Turningpoint employees.
