Letter: Women: Republicans are taking away your hard-won rights

Well, we’re now in a state where women no longer have the right to be paid as much as a man for doing the same job.

Well, we’re now in a state where women no longer have the right to be paid as much as a man for doing the same job.

Oh, of course there is no “war on women” in the Republican party. That’s just the evil media and lying Democrats inventing a fictional issue.

Doesn’t this repeal of equal pay laws bother all women in this state?

What women’s lobbying groups are behind Scott Walker’s efforts to deny women the right to be paid as much as a man for the same job?

Is this a law that appeals to some mothers who feel better knowing their daughters can be denied money in their paycheck from any job they may get in this state based on the fact they are female?

I’m trying to understand how a politician facing recall can have so much faith in the women of this state that he is comfortable passing a law that basically promotes the idea of females as lesser beings.

Walker also signed a bill that requires teachers to stress that abstinence is the only sure way to prevent pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases (who would have guessed?), along with a provision that allows sex education teachers to ignore the topic of contraception.

I think I know what the governor’s slogan for his upcoming campaign will be: “Who cares what the people of Wisconsin want or need.”
