Board of Education Special Meeting Minutes

April 2, 2012

The special scheduled meeting of the River Falls Board of Education was called to order on Monday, April 2, 2012, at 6:04 p.m. by President Stacy Johnson Myers in the River Falls District Office conference room, 852 E Division Street. It was ascertained that notice of the meeting had been properly posted at the appointed locations, published in The River Falls Journal and announcements sent to WEVR Radio Station, St. Paul Pioneer Press, and the Eau Claire Leader Telegram.

PRESENT

President Stacy Johnson Myers, Vice President Dennis Behnke, Treasurer Manville Kenney, Clerk Barbara Kolpin, and members Rich Gerczak, Mike Miller and Alan Tuchtenhagen were present. Also present were Superintendent Tom Westerhaus, Finance Director Chad Smurawa, District Maintenance Specialist Andrew Johnson, ATS&R representative Bill Martin, and Kraus-Anderson representatives Mark Kotten and John Huenick.

HIGH SCHOOL ENERGY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM BID

The existing energy management system at the high school is outdated and operation is marginal. The system is not reliable and the energy consumption is high for the facility. Kenney moved, Gerczak seconded, to approve the upgrade of controls to be compatible with the District WEB Based Energy Management System. Motion carried unanimously (7-0).

ARCHITECT AND CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT

UPDATES

ATS&R and Kraus Anderson architects provided updates on the referendum project progress.

ADJOURNMENT

President Johnson Myers declared the meeting adjourned at 6:38 p.m.
