Letter: No joke: Check, then buy local

OK, I get it! The letter — “What’s this? We didn’t get our meat’s worth” — from the town of Clifton couple was an April Fool’s joke.
It was very funny — and clever.
But on the off-chance that it was a real letter from real people about something that really happened…
People! You’re surrounded by farms!
Farms whose meat sources can be traced from beginning to end!
Farms where you can see what you’re getting, from people who are your neighbors, so they’re accountable.
Why on earth would anyone buy anything from a door-to-door huckster from —Gasp! — Minnesota, of all places? (I’m from Minnesota, and I wouldn’t!)
Buy local. Check out your sources. Problem solved.
