I was absolutely delighted to visit the River Falls Public Library’s Kleinpell Gallery last weekend and to find there a simply extraordinary exhibit.

Titled “Illuminations,” this show features beautifully vibrant large prints from the St. John’s Bible paired with work by the Colleagues of Calligraphy, a group from the Twin Cities metro area.

The whole thing just blew me away!

The stunning Bible prints are nicely displayed with comprehensive background information that makes them understandable so viewers can better appreciate what they’re seeing.

Having heard about the stellar quality of the St. John’s Bible exhibit, I was prepared to be impressed, but it seems I just can’t say enough about the work of the calligraphy group.

It started with the excellent display of calligraphy tools and information on the craft displayed in the hallway cases leading into the gallery.

I was glad I was the only one there at the time because many of the works also displayed in those cases made me cry!

This exhibit might be viewed through the eyes, but it goes straight to the heart.

Sadly, of course, the library and the lower level gallery are closed Friday, April 6-Sunday, April 8 for the Easter holiday, but there is still plenty of time left to see this exhibit before it ends on Sunday, April 22.

And admission is free. Don’t miss it!
