Letter: What’s this? We didn’t get our meat’s worth
Recently my husband and I were sold some meat by a door-to-door salesman from Stillwater, Minn.By: Cheryl Maplethorpe, town of Clifton, River Falls Journal
Recently my husband and I were sold some meat by a door-to-door salesman from Stillwater, Minn.
He sold us 40 pounds of meat at $3 a pound. When we unpacked all the cardboard boxes, it turned out to be only 19 pounds of meat.
The invoice said the sale could be canceled within three days.
We called the phone number on the invoice and got a recording saying to leave a detailed message. I left a detailed message three times to no avail.
On top of that, the inside labels on the “meat” say it is 15% water, sodium phosphate, dextrose, maltodextrin, butter flavor, ficin and bromelin.
I am still hoping to get my money back.
If a door-to-door meat salesman knocks on your door — BEWARE.
