We recently visited River Falls after deciding to leave life in a large metro area and return to Wisconsin for a slower rural place.

During our three days there, we were thoroughly welcomed wherever we went.

From the folks at EconoFoods to the ladies at the Dish and Spoon, from Drucilla at the Chamber who gave us all kinds of literature to read, to Jennifer at the Housing Authority who spent time explaining the housing options, and from the helpful ladies in the business office at the Medical Center to the Reverend Ted and so many people at the Unitarian Universalist Society whose warmth and humor made us feel like we’d been members for years (Mary and Bob Emberger even gave us their phone number in case we had any questions!).

We just want to thank the genuinely friendly people of your beautiful town.

Add to this the physical beauty of the area (OK, so we’ll have to get used to humidity again, but bring on those wild winters!), and we’re certain we could not have picked a better place to go to get out of the rat race and back to what’s really important in life.

We very much look forward to moving as soon as possible and becoming part of what seems like a truly wonderful community.
