Bluegrass Fest, weather bring out crowds

Restaurants, bars and even street corners drew capacity crowds all over downtown River Falls for the second annual Roots & Bluegrass Music Festival this past weekend.

Restaurants, bars and even street corners drew capacity crowds all over downtown River Falls for the second annual Roots & Bluegrass Music Festival this past weekend, March 23-25.

Headlined by bluegrass legend Ralph Stanley and the Clinch Mountain Boys Friday night, and Pert Near Sandstone on Saturday night, the festival also featured the Upper Midwest Flatpicking Guitar Championship on Saturday afternoon.

Junior’s Bar hosted the main events, but music filled the air at smaller venues, too – including impromptu outdoor performances inspired by the unseasonably warm weather.

See the attached Photo Gallery for more pictures from the event.
