Two Eau Claire women face criminal charges, for letting a 16-year-old girl babysit seven younger children for 10 straight days.
Natasha Carter, 27, has been charged with four misdemeanor counts of child neglect, and 26-year-old Rachel Hoyt faces three similar charges. Both are due in court March 29.
Human service officials in Eau Claire County were tipped off while the 16-year-old babysitter was watching seven kids ages 2-6 in March of last year.
A friend of the babysitter told officials that she was originally asked to watch them for three days while the parents went to Chicago, but that period stretched out to 10 days.
Carter reportedly told authorities she had a hard time dealing with the seven kids and needed a break. Meanwhile, the teen, who was also watching her own child during the 10-day period, had put a six-year-old child in charge of changing diapers for the toddlers.
