Anyone who knows of or suspects public-assistance fraud, the Wisconsin Department of Health Services wants them to report suspicions online or by phone.
The Office of the Inspector General within that state department launched a new website for that purpose last week. If citizens suspect fraud is being committed in programs like Medicaid, FoodShare and BadgerCare, they can go to www.dhs.wisconsin.gov – or call the toll-free fraud hotline at 877-865-3432.
The hotline has been in operation for three months and has already received more than 400 reports.
