NOTICE TO BIDDERS

2012 ROUT & SEAL PROGRAM

The City of River Falls will receive sealed bids at the at the City Clerk’s office at City Hall until 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 29, 2012 at which time bids will be opened and publicly read aloud in the Training Room of City Hall, located at 222 Lewis Street, River Falls, Wisconsin for the 2012 ROUT & SEAL PROGRAM to include the approximate quantities:

Rout and Seal Cracks . . . . . . . . 1 LUMP SUM

Said work shall be in accordance with the Plans and Specifications prepared by the City Engineer. Plans, Specifications, and Contract Documents may be obtained from and any questions concerning this project shall be directed to the City Engineer, 222 Lewis Street, River Falls, WI 54022 (715) 426-3409 or e-mail rwronski@rfcity.org.

The City of River Falls will only allow crack sealing work to be performed by a Contractor who has demonstrated the ability to successfully perform crack sealing work by having sealed at least 1,000,000 lineal feet of cracks (370,000 lbs) on roadways in Wisconsin, Minnesota, or upper Michigan in the past 24 months utilizing similar methods and materials as required on this project. This crack sealing work must have survived one winter with no more than 10 percent cumulative failure of the sealant during the winter. The contractor shall furnish a list of similar projects successfully completed within the past 24 months as part of their bid.

No bid will be considered unless accompanied by a certified check or bid bond in the amount of five percent (5%) of the amount of the bid made payable to the City of River Falls, as a guarantee that if the bid is accepted, the successful bidder will execute the Contract and furnish a performance bond and payment bond in the total amount of the Contract within ten (10) days after the award of said Contract.

All bids shall be in a sealed envelope clearly marked: “2012 Rout & Seal Program." The City of River Falls reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive informalities, and to accept the bid deemed most advantageous to the City.
