UWRF men advance to WIAC final

Junior Ollie White scored 22 points on 10-of-11 shooting and grabbed eight rebounds to lead the UW-River Falls men’s basketball team to a 76-51 victory over No. 20 UW-Stevens Point in a WIAC Tournament semifinal game Friday night at Karges Center.
The Falcons led wire to wire to defeat the Pointers for the third time this season and advance to Sunday’s WIAC Tournament championship game at UW-Whitewater. The eighth-ranked Warhawks defeated UW-La Crosse, 66-55, in Friday night’s other semifinal.
Shane Manor added 12 points, including three dunks, and Wade Guerin scored 10 points and pulled down six rebounds while Aaron Anderson contributed nine points, all on three-pointers, and Brian Kimble had eight points, six assists and three steals.
The Falcons and Warhawks will meet Sunday at 2 p.m. in Whitewater with the WIAC’s automatic bid to the NCAA Division III National Tournament on the line.
