Energy savings for River Falls Housing Authority

The Wisconsin Department of Energy Services awarded a grant of $312,000 to the River Falls Housing Authority to weatherize and add energy efficient improvements to Edgewater Apartments, Briarwood Apartments, Oakpark Apartments and Riverview Manor.

The Wisconsin Department of Energy Services awarded a grant of $312,000 to the River Falls Housing Authority to weatherize and add energy efficient improvements to Edgewater Apartments, Briarwood Apartments, Oakpark Apartments and Riverview Manor.

The grant replaced boilers and water heaters with high efficiency equipment, added insulation, installed water saving devices and replaced incandescent lighting with compact florescent or other high efficiency lighting throughout each building.

River Falls Municipal Utility also awarded funding to the River Falls Housing Authority. Their grant replaced 41 refrigerators with Energy Star refrigerators purchased from a local company.

The River Falls Housing Authority offers affordable rental homes for the elderly, disabled persons and for families with children.
