Ballpark fundraiser hits home run

Members of the River Falls Fighting Fish amateur men’s baseball team are introduced to the crowd at the River Falls Baseball Council’s inaugural Baseball Bash Saturday night at Kilkarney Hills Golf Club. Organizers pinpointed the attendance for the event, billed as a celebration of the Fighting Fish and American Legion Post 121 state championship baseball teams and a kickoff to the Community Ballpark Project, at 408. Nearly $5,000 was raised to help begin the $450,000 project to build a new ballpark on the east side of Hoffman Park.
