Dads and daughters gathered 6-8 p.m. Saturday at the River Falls High School for the YMCA’s 3rd annual daddy-daughter dance. Held for the first time in 2012 as a Valentine’s Day event, volunteers from the Senior Tax Exchange Program (STEP) -- coordinated through the school district’s Community Education in 2011 -- helped at the dance where 94 girls aged 3-10 years old attended with their fathers. A DJ played hits from both dads’ and daughters’ generation, and everyone enjoyed refreshments that included a build-their-own ice cream sundae. Each young lady got a complimentary flower and Valentine goodie bag. Each couple was treated to a free souvenir photo, as well as crafts and activities.
