Letter: Read Dave Wood: Be charmed and learn something

When I get the Journal this is usually the order in which I read it:

First the front page articles, then the opinion page, followed by the articles by Dave Wood. The rest of the paper follows.

The writing by Mr. Wood draws one in with intrigue and curiosity.

I never miss his stories of history, recent events, personal travels and book reviews. The stories have a Keilloresque feel to them.

By that reference, I hope not to offend but offer praise. I do feel Dave Wood has his own great unique style.

This week I read with fascination about the visit from his California relative and the definition of a supper club.

I grew up in Minnesota but have lived in Wisconsin since 1979.

I have dined in many so called “supper clubs,” but I never really knew what set them apart from other restaurants.

I suppose I mentally considered it to be some sort of self-assigned refinement or in other words a “classy place”.

Thank you, Dave, for again giving me more cerebral knowledge and entertaining reading. Cheers!
