Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers received a huge honor the morning of Wednesday, Dec. 21, when the Associated Press named him as Male Athlete of the Year. The voting wasn’t even close.
Rodgers received 112 votes out of 212 ballots from sports executives around the country. He was the MVP of the Super Bowl in February.
This fall, Rodgers led the Packers to 13 straight regular season victories. Detroit Tigers’ pitcher Justin Verlander was second for the top male athlete. He was both the MVP and the Cy Young award winner in the American League – and one of his two career no-hitters was against the Milwaukee Brewers.
