MUNICIPAL UTILITIES
River Falls Municipal Water Utility has filed an application with the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin (PSC) to increase water rates. The adjustment has been requested in order to cover debt coverage requirements for recent improvements to the water distribution system. The last water rate increase was approved in March of 1997.
The utility is requesting an overall increase of 13 percent or $171,437. The final impact of the rate increase upon individual customers will not be definitely known until the PSC issues an order. The PSC will conduct a public hearing and a notice of the hearing will be published after a date has been set.
