Cats end season on high note

The Wildcat football team rallied behind a pair of seniors in its final game of the season.
Tanner Kusilek scored three touchdowns and Ryan Kusilek passed for two touchdowns, ran for another and kicked a 39-yard field goal as the Wildcats took care of Superior, 44-22, Friday night at Ramer Field.
Tanner Kusilek scored on touchdown runs of 1 and 3 yards and returned an interception 30 yards for another score to stake the Wildcats to a 21-16 second quarter lead. Ryan Kusilek kicked a 39-yard field goal and hit Brad Freeborn with a 33-yard touchdown pass to extend the Wildcat lead to 30-16 at halftime.
Ryan Kusilek opened the second half with a 2-yard touchdown plunge, then found Eric Wunrow in the back of the end zone for a 15-yard touchdown on the first play of the fourth quarter to make the score 44-16.
Ryan Kusilek completed 11-of-19 passes for 133 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions. Tanner Kusilek carried the ball 31 times for 150 yards as the Cats compiled 219 yards on the ground.
The win leaves the Wildcats in fifth place in the Big Rivers Conference, ahead of both Superior and Eau Claire North, with a conference record of 2-5. River Falls finished 4-5 overall.
