Falcon hoops hosts Midnight Madness
The UW-River Falls men’s and women’s basketball teams will kick off the 2011-12 season with a Midnight Madness Whiteout Saturday, Oct. 15, into Sunday, Oct. 16. Karges Center doors open at 11:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 15, and the event will run from midnight to 1 a.m. The first 150 fans will receive a free “Karges Krazies” t-shirt.

In addition to a three-point shooting contest and slam-dunk contest, the Falcons will host a raffle that will give one lucky student a chance to win free tuition for a semester by making a shot from half-court. Raffle tickets cost $1 each with a UW-RF ID. Free prizes will also be given throughout the night.
The Falcon men are coming off a 2010-11 season in which they made their first appearance in the NCAA Tournament, put together a school record 15-game winning streak and advanced to the WIAC Tournament championship game for the first time in school history.
The Falcons tip-off the regular season at Viterbo University on Tuesday, Nov. 15. The Falcon home opener is scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 22, against St. Thomas, the defending Division III national champions.
The Falcon women finished the 2010-11 season with a record of 16-11 and advanced to the WIAC Tournament semifinals. They open their season Tuesday, Nov. 15, at home against Gustavus.
