Fair Talent Show will end with fireworks

Do you dance, sing, or play an instrument? If yes, the place to be is the Pierce County Fairgrounds on Wednesday, Aug. 11. The Pierce County Fair Talent Show will start off the evening and will close with fireworks following at dusk.

The Pierce County Fair is seeking amateur entertainers. All types of talent are encouraged, including vocal, instrumental, dramatic readings, skits and dance.

There will be two divisions in each competition. The junior division is for those entering ninth grade and under and the senior division includes contestants entering the tenth grade through adult.

The preliminary contests will be held in the picnic shelter on Wednesday evening, Aug. 11, starting at 4:30 p.m. The town schedule will be as follows.

4:30 - River Falls

5:30 - Spring Valley/Elmwood/Plum City

6:30 - Prescott

7:30 - Ellsworth/Maiden Rock/Bay City/Hager City

First and second places will be awarded in each division from each community show with every participant receiving a participation ribbon. First place will advance to the finals held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 14.

In the finals, cash prizes of $150 and $75 will be awarded to the first and second place winners in each division.
