Youths invited to enter safety video contest; $1,750 in prize money for groups
The UW Center for Agricultural Safety and Health and the Farm Technology Days Youth Committee is sponsoring a Wisconsin Farm Safety Video Contest.
Entries are allowed from teams of at least 3 members from a non-profit, Wisconsin recognized youth organization including but not limited to FFA, 4-H, FCCLA and scouting organizations, according to Frank Ginther, Pierce County's 4-H Youth Development Agent.
Entrants should be members in good standing with their organization and Wisconsin residents.
The videos must be between 60- and 120 seconds long. Subject areas can be either general agricultural safety or safety when operating on public roads. Entrants can submit one video for each category with a separate entry form completed for each entry. Videos should be in either a .WMV or .MPEG format, burned to a DVD or placed on a flash drive.

Judging will be done by an independent panel which will review all valid entries. Videos will be judged on the basis of how closely it follows the subject, creativity, and overall video production.
Judges will select three videos in each category that will be voted on by Farm Technology Days attendees during the official hours of three-day show, July 20-22.
Prizes will be awarded to the non-profit organization submitting the video. No individual prizes will be awarded. 1st prize will be $1000, 2nd prize will be $500 and 3rd prize - $250.
The winning videos will be featured on the University of Wisconsin Center for Agricultural Safety and Health websites and other related electronic media.
Entries cannot be acknowledged or returned, and they become the property of the UW Center for Agricultural Safety and Health. UW Center for Agricultural Safety and Health reserves the right to use any or all entries for educational purposes.
