Writer uses provocative title to tempt readers with poetry
River Falls resident, writer and frequent public library visitor Eunice Beauchman loves to play with words. She did that when writing her recently-published book of poetry.
The book’s title, “Tricky Pussy: Adventures with Words,” is full of meanings for Beauchman, both serious and more playful.
“I like to play with words,” Beauchman said. “…using language not only as a tool for conveying information, but kind of playing with ideas and concepts at the same time.”
Beauchman said the phrase “Tricky Pussy” also reflects the more serious themes found in her book. She said the poems are mostly about women, love, relationships and the way men view women.
“The idea of love and sexuality, it’s a tricky kind of place for most people to be,” Beauchman. She said she thought in that aspect, the title was fitting.
She wrote the poems over the course of about two years. The book was officially published last November.
Beauchman lives in River Falls with her family. She said she’s planning to release a second volume of poetry in February, and plans to publish three novels in the future as well.
“Tricky Pussy” is available on Amazon.com.
