Woman dies Saturday in Hwy. 35 crash
A 50-year-old female passenger was killed during a car vs. motorcycle collision late Saturday morning at Hwy. 35 and County Road E.
The Pierce County Sheriff's Department identified the victim as Lori Sobania of Oakdale, Minn.
Sobania was a passenger on a northbound motorcycle driven by William Sobania, also of Oakdale. Both were thrown from the motorcycle.
The two were hit when a car allegedly driven by Amy Raymo, 31, of River Falls, pulled out of the intersection and hit the motorcycle. Raymo had one passenger, 55-year-old Sandra Raymo, also of River Falls.
William Sobania was airlifted by a North Memorial helicopter to Regions Hospital. Lori Sabania was taken from the scene by Prescott Ambulance to Regions Hospital in St. Paul where she was later pronounced dead. William was listed in serious condition as of Monday afternoon, according to a Regions spokesperson.
Both Raymos were taken by ambulance to River Falls Area Hospital, where they were treated and released.
Those responding to the fatal crash in the town of Oak Grove were: Prescott Fire and Ambulance; River Falls Ambulance; North Memorial Helicopter, and the sheriff's department.
