Willow River fishing contest and art show June 3
Willow River State Park, 1034 County Highway A, will host a kids fishing contest on Sunday, June 3, from 8:30 a.m. to noon. The contest is open to children up to age 12. There will be three age groups: 6 and under fish from 9-9:45 a.m.; ages 7-9, from 10-10:45 a.m.; and ages 9-12, from 11-11:45 a.m. There is a $1 per child entry fee. The contest starts at 9 a.m. and registration opens at 8:30 p.m. Prizes are awarded after each age group. The prizes are for the largest fish, smallest fish and the most fish.
From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. about 30-45 artists will be selling their art including woodworking, homemade soaps, jewelry, yard art, weaving, black smith and more. There will be activities for the kids and concessions. Park admission will be free on June 3. A fishing license will not be required on that day at any Wisconsin State Park.
