William J. Hoppe, 75
William "Bill" J. Hoppe, 75, of River Falls, died Thursday, Feb. 6, at Hudson Hospital with his family by his side.
He was born on Nov. 30, 1938, to Norman and Clara (Christensen) Hoppe in Oconto, Wis.
Bill graduated from Oconto High School. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin, Stout with his Bachelors and Masters in Industrial Technology. He worked for Allis-Chalmers in West Allis, Wis., for 36 years. Bill married Beverly Ockler on July 7, 1962, in Menomonie.
He enjoyed his family, playing music, woodworking, dancing, camping and traveling.
Bill is survived by his wife, Bev; his three children, Bruce (Jean) Hoppe, Beth (Jon) Hoppe- Stidham and Brenda (Thomas) Hoppe- Ebert; seven grandchildren, Anna, William and George Hoppe, Levi and Samantha Stidham, Eva and Benjamin Hoppe-Ebert; a brother, Marvin (Joan) Hoppe; four sisters, Clarice Picard, Norma Modrow, Phyllis Murphy, and Dolores (Roger) Badora; nieces; nephews; many relatives and friends.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents.
Mass of Christian Burial is at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 10, at St. Bridget Catholic Church, River Falls, with Father Gerald Harris officiating. Visitation will be held from 1-5 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 9, at St. Bridget Catholic Church and again one hour prior to the service on Monday. Burial will be held at the Lower Weston Cemetery.
