MADISON - River Falls's Tyson Bystrom had no problems winning his first round match at the WIAA State Individual Wrestling Meet Thursday afternoon.

Byrstrom won 12-1 over Oshkosh West's Justin Karkula at 195 pounds. Bystrom scored two takedowns in the first period then scored a five-point throw to go ahead 10-1 after two periods.

Bystrom will wrestle in the quarterfinals this evening against Josh Wipperfurth of Waunakee (Sr. 40-7). Wipperfurth was a 12-10 overtime winner over Janesville Craig's Zak Kurtz.
