  • UWRF women’s tennis: At 3:30 p.m. at the Ramer Field tennis courts on the UWRF campus.

  • Gallery 120 Opening: "Three Coins in the Fountain," opening reception will be held from 4-8 p.m. at Gallery 120, 120 N. Main Street.
  • High school football: At 7 p.m. against Superior at David Smith Stadium at Ramer Field, on the UWRF campus. During halftime the River Falls High School Marching Band will perform.
  • Falcon Frontier Days Rodeo: At 7 p.m., at the UW-River Falls Falcon Frontier rodeo grounds, on the corner of Wasson Lane and Cemetery Road. Ticket prices are $12 for adults and children over age 12; $8 for UWRF students with campus ID and children age 5-12; and children age 4 and under are free.     • Movie in the park: River Falls Community Education will be hosting the movie "UP" at dusk at Hoffman Park. Bring blankets and lawn chairs. This is a free event for all community members and popcorn will be provided. Rain site will be in the River Falls High School Commons at 7:30 p.m.

    • Packer game: At noon vs. the Washington Redskins. Not aired on local TV. Check local establishments for viewing.

    • Fun Run: At 8 a.m at River Community Church in Houlton for St. Joe Fire Department. Pancake breakfast, displays, pony cart rides. Call 651-705-6635 for more information.
    • 5K run/walk: The Hope 5K Run/Walk sponsored by the Suicide Prevention Task Force of St. Croix County, will be held at The Centre, 428 S. Starr Ave., New Richmond.  Registration at 7:30 a.m., run/walk will start at 8:30 a.m. $20 for 15 and older; $15 for 5-15; under 5 free. Funds raised will go toward suicide prevention efforts.
    • Car show: New Richmond VFW Post 10818 is putting on its third annual Car Show from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., at Mary Park. Entry fee is $10, and all proceeds benefit VFW Post 10818. The TC Cats Rock 'N' Roll Revue will perform from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
    • Pedal tractor pull: From 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., at the New Richmond Sports Center. Children who qualified at events throughout the state will compete for the chance to advance to the National Pedal Tractor Pull at the Corn Palace in Mitchell, S.D., on Sept. 21. Admission is free.
    • Fall festival: At St. Paul’s Episcopal, 502 Cty Rd. UU, Hudson, from 10 a.m to 4 p.m. Fun and games for kids and adults, music, food, plant sale, exotic animal display.
    • Running of the Llamas: In the streets of Hammond, at 3 p.m. Vendors will offer a variety of products for sale, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Community Band will play at 1 p.m., followed by a fun and quirky parade that takes to the streets at 2:30 p.m. Rib fest will run from 3:30-6 p.m. in the Hammond Hotel parking lot as rib vendors compete for this year's "Best in Ribs" title.     • RibFest: The Hudson Lions Club hosts its fourth annual Ribfest from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Willow River Saloon in Burkhardt. The public is welcome to the cooking competition and rib-tasting event. Ribs and side dishes will be available for a charge. This year's event features the live entertainment of Dave Snyder Acoustic Sounds. Hudson-area brewers American Sky Brewery and Pitch Fork Brewery will be on hand with samples of beer. Members of the St. Joseph Fire Department and EMS squad will demonstrate emergency rescue techniques. The competitors must use pork spareribs, cooked St. Louis style, but each competitor will utilize their own techniques and secret ingredients to give their ribs a unique flavor and texture. Money raised at the event supports local scholarships and humanitarian needs.
    • Music concert: War Cry '13 will be held at 5 p.m., doors open at 4 p.m., at Energy Outreach, 2988 60th Ave. Wilson.
