Friday:

  • BFA Degree Exhibition reception: From 5-8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 1, in Gallery 101. This exhibit and event are free and open to the public. The art may be viewed during regular gallery hours, Monday-Friday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Sunday from 2-4 p.m. For more information, contact the art department at 715-425-3266.

  • Halloween light display: Drive through a Halloween decoration display, 6-10 p.m. nightly through Nov. 2, weather permitting, at the Roman Pechacek farm at W11386, County Road FF in the town of Clifton. There will be Halloween inflatables, scarecrows, witches, ghosts, a pirate area and treats at the trellis for kids. Bring a non-perishable food item or donation for the local food shelf.
  • Falls Theatre: Free Birds at 7 and 9:15 p.m. See a preview at www.fallstheatre.com.
  • Chicago the musical: At 7:30 p.m. at the Blanche Davis Theatre KFA, on the UW-River Falls campus. Set in the legendary city during the roaring "jazz hot" 20's, Roxie Hart is sent to prison for killing the man who tried walking out on her.  In prison she meets Velma Kelly, a big-time vaudeville star with twice as much blood on her hands.  The two attempt to get away free and with as much fame as they can muster. Tickets are senior $13; adult $17; and student $8. Call the box office at  715-425-3114 for tickets.

  • Saturday:

    • Bazaar, quilt auction: The United Methodist Church Women will hold their annual bazaar and quilt auction 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., at the church, 127 S. Second St. The bazaar will include baked and canned goods, fancy work, crafts and rugs. Themed baskets will be sold during a silent auction, and coffee, rolls and lunch will be served. The auction, which includes nine regular quilts and five baby quilts, begins at 10 a.m.
    • Coat give-away: From 10 a.m.-noon at St. Bridget’s School Gym, Division St., River Falls. Offering coats, snowpants, boots, hats, mittens/gloves to kids ages 0-18 in need of them.     • Wisconsin Badger football: At 11 a.m. versus Iowa. Aired on ABC and ESPN 2.

    • Daylight savings time end: Turn back your clock 1 hour, starting at 2 a.m.
    • Moose Lodge brunch: At 620 N. Clark Street, will host a brunch from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The menu will include pancakes, French toast, scrambled eggs, bacon, ham, sausage, potatoes, coffee, juice and milk. The public is welcome.     • Vikings game: At noon vs. the Dallas Cowboys. Aired on FOX.

    • Free Clinic benefit concert: As a way to thank those who helped her through two knee replacement surgeries, Beth Ray will be hosting a concert of gratitude at 3 p.m., at the Unitarian Universalist Society of River Falls, N8010 Hwy 65. The concert will benefit the Free Clinic of Pierce and St. Croix Counties. The concert will feature native flute, Celtic harp and guitar by Ray, Lynn Cox, and Derek Washington.
