  • Blood drive: Meyer Middle School students will be sponsoring a blood drive from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, May 30, in the school gym, 230 N 9th St. Call 715-425-1820 or visit www.redcross.org (search for 54022) to make an appointment.

  • River Falls High School senior ride around: The 2014 graduates from River Falls High School will be celebrating their upcoming graduation about 2:10 p.m. Look for the lines of cars honking and celebrating.
  • Falls Theatre: X-Men at 7 and 9:30 p.m. See a preview at www.fallstheatre.com.
  • Senior class party decorations viewing: The River Falls Senior Class Party Association invites the River Falls community to view the decorations for the Senior Class Party of 2014, from 9-9:30 p.m. The Senior Class Party Association has worked on the “Great Gatsby” themed party for the past four months. Visitors are asked to park on side streets and use the Ninth Street entrance.
  • Saturday:

    • Senior care fit event: The River Falls Area Hospital will host a free car fit event for seniors from 9 to 11:30 a.m., in the hospital parking lot on the back side of the building. Trained professionals will lead senior drivers through a 12-point checklist with their vehicle, recommend personal vehicle adjustments to help their car "fit" better and enhance their safety. An occupational therapist will be on hand to provide information to older drivers on how to maintain and strengthen driving health. To pre-register for a 20 minute CarFit appointment, call RFAH wellness center at 715-307-6060.
    • Rodeo: The Border Battle Ranch Rodeo will be held starting at noon, at Colwell Quarter Horses, 1439 Steeple Dr. Events include sorting, doctoring, trailer loading, and sort and pen. Registration is $350 per team and closes at 11:30 a.m. Saturday. Admission for spectators is free. There will also be food vendors, family fun, Sunday breakfast, and overnight camping.     Sunday:

    • Moose Lodge breakfast: The Moose Lodge Breakfast will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Moose Lodge, 620 N. Clark Street. The breakfast, which is open to the public, will feature a menu of pancakes, French toast, scrambled eggs, bacon, ham, sausage, potatoes, coffee, juice, and milk.     • Right Touch Horse Training Open House: An open house for Right Touch Horse Training, located four miles east of River Falls off of Hwy. 65 at 1171 30th Ave., will be held from noon to 4 p.m. There will be barn tours. The owner, Stephanie Wood, will be on hand for questions; some of the horses will be out in the arena and there will be demos.
    • River Falls High School graduation: At 1 p.m. the class of 2014 will graduate at River Falls High School.

    • Piano recital: The students of Common Chord Piano Studio will present a spring recital of "Music by the Masters" at 3 p.m., at the Unitarian Universalist Society of River Falls. Performing will be Dylan and Sid Score, Jacob and Elizabeth Sammon, Alton and Alena Lesneski, Kaitlin O'Brien, Hannes Rolf, Sophia Schmidt, Shirin Rahgozar, Arden LaFave, Anika Hovland and Reilly Myklebust. The recital is free and open to the public

    • Somerset Buds Plant Sale: 8 a.m.-noon at Dairy Queen, 100 Church St. in Somerset.
    • Learn about Garlic Mustard: Learn about this invasive and control methods, 9-11 a.m. at Camp St. Croix near Hudson. Call 715-531-1922 for more information.
    • Kids fishing contest: The St. Croix Sportsman’s Alliance will sponsor a free kids fishing contest at Homestead Parklands on Perch Lake, 550 Perch Lake Road, from 2-4 p.m. The fishing contest is open to children of all ages. Sign up at fishperch.eventbrite.com. Vehicle admission fee will be waived for all participants. Volunteers will be available to assist children with fishing.
