Friday:

  • Coffee With a Cop: At the American Legion Hall, River Falls. Anyone can drop by and chat with officers. 8 a.m.

  • Circus: Will be coming to the Wildcat Centre, 861 Cemetery Road, for two shows at 4:30 and 7:30 p.m. There will be a per-party one hour prior to the show featuring elephant rides, face painting, and more.   • Gathering Place fundraiser: A fundraiser for the Gathering Place will be held on Friday, June 13, at 404 South Winter Street. There will be a bean bag tournament, live entertainment and food vendors. The bean bag tournament will be held at 5 p.m., with the Tommy Bentz band playing at 6 p.m.
  • Truck and tractor pull: The River Falls FFA Alumni River Falls FFA Alumni will hold a truck and tractor pull at 6:30 p.m. Friday, June 13, at the North End Industrial Park. Admission is $5 for adults; $3 for children under 12; and free for children under 3. Pulling entry fee is $25 Farm Stock and $30 all other classes.   • Baseball park opening and game: First National Bank of River Falls Field will officially open with an exhibition game between the Fighting Fish and the River Falls American Legion Post 121 team at 7 p.m. Live music starts at 6 p.m.
  • Broadway Spoof: Forbidden Broadways Greatest Hits, produced by River Falls Community Theatre, will be presented at 7 p.m. at Friends Bar and Grill, 1107 S. Wasson. The show is a cabaret style revue sharply spoofing show tunes, characters and plots of Broadway musicals. Tickets are $15 and available at the door or at Friends Bar & Grill or the Dish and Spoon Café.
  • Falls Theatre: How to Train a Dragon 2 at 7 and 9:30 p.m. See a preview at www.fallstheatre.com.
  • Library lower level: Summer Science: We Believe Science Can Be Fun! How things work, why things happen, hands-on experiments, fun facts …and really lame science jokes through July 12 in the River Falls Public Library lower level.
  • Saturday:

    • Free community breakfast: River Falls United Methodist Church, 127 South 2nd Street, will host a free community breakfast from 8-10 a.m. There are also free rides to the church for the breakfast, contact United Methodist at 715-425-6233.
    • Touch-A-Truck: From 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at River Falls High School parking lots. Free admission. Kids get to see and go behind the wheel of more than 60 trucks, including a large dump truck, earth mover, road grader, cranes, school bus, bucket trucks, snowplow truck, ready mix cement truck, road grader, emergency vehicles and more. Display of 1942 M4 Sherman military tank. First 400 kids ages 8 and under get a plastic yellow play hard hat. More information at www.Touch-a-Truck.com.
    • Falls Theatre: How to Train a Dragon 2 at 2, 7 and 9:30 p.m. See a preview at www.fallstheatre.com.
    • Lines and Lures: A storytelling event will be held 5-9 p.m., at 404 South Winter Street. There will be a fish dinner, fish tales and children activities. Limited tickets are available at Perkins, Dish and the Spoon Café or online at www.foster-foundation.org. The 5-6:30 p.m. fish dinner is $25 for adults and $15 for youth aged 6-16; under 6 is free.     • Family Fresh annual Rib Fest: At the New Richmond Family Fresh location. The event takes place over two days, Friday, June 13, and Saturday, June 14, but the Rib Cook-Off takes place on Saturday, morning at 10 a.m. Family Fresh will be serving pork sandwiches, pork baby back ribs, grilled corn on the cob, potato salad, coleslaw, baked beans, chips and soda on both days. All proceeds from the event will go to the Grace Place Expansion Project.

    Saturday:

    • St. Croix Animal Friends walk: St. Croix Animal Friends will host the Raise the “Woof” Animal Walk at Lakefront Park in Hudson. Registration starts at 9 a.m. There will be family and dog games, vendors, music and food from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. There will be $20 micro chipping at the event. Space for the collection can be book by filling out a form at the Heritage Center’s website (nrheritagecenter.org) or by picking one up at the Heritage Center office.
