Friday:

  • UWRF men’s hockey game: At 7:05 p.m. versus Gustavus at W.H. Hunt Arena on the UWRF campus.

  • Library lower level exhibit: Pen & Ink, with a Side of Metal: Philip Colpitts and the Metalsmiths’ Guild. Featuring a body of work by Philip Colpitts, and three-dimensional contributions by metalsmiths through March 2.
  • Saturday:

    • Free community breakfast: At River Falls United Methodist Church, 127 South 2nd Street, will host a free community breakfast from 8-10 a.m. on the second Saturday of the month. There are also free rides to the church for the breakfast, contact United Methodist at 715-425-6233.
    • RFHS wrestling: BRC-D/SC Challenge beginning at 10 a.m. at River Falls High School.
    • Learn to snowshoe event: A learn to snowshoe event will be held at Kinnickinnic Forest near HWY JJ, Saturday, Feb. 8 at 10 a.m. The cost is $7 per family.     • UWRF track and field: Starting at 12:30 p.m. the UWRF Invitational will take place at the Kargas Center on the UWRF campus.
    • Benefit for Phillip Thorn: A benefit will be held for Phillip Thorn, Meyer Middle School seventh grader, from 1-4:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 8, at the American Legion. Thorn suffered an Anoxic Brain Injury, after going into pulmonary cardiac arrest Jan. 16. The benefit will be a Star Wars and nerd themed event, so light sabers and suspenders are welcome. There will be a silent auction with many different items donated from local and non-local businesses. There will be a bake sale, face painting, and activity table for kids. Donation jars will be set up around the tables and at local businesses leading up to the event. No entry fee will be required but a $5 donation at the door would be appreciated.

    • UWRF women’s hockey game: At 2:05 p.m. versus Superior  at W.H. Hunt Arena on the UWRF campus
