  • RFHS girls’ basketball: At 5:45 p.m. versus Hudson at the River Falls High School.

  • Community theatre one act plays: “Love River Falls Style” is a night of one act comedies being presented by River Falls Community Theater. For $15, enjoy dessert, coffee, and watching your friends and neighbors perform a series of short funny plays for your entertainment.  This event is being held at Friends Bar & Grill at 1107 S. Wasson Lane. Doors open at 6:30 for pre-show musical entertainment with the theater offerings starting at 7:30.  Seats are limited.  Advance tickets are available at Friends and at the Dish and the Spoon Cafe.
  • Middle school musical: Meyer Middle School students will be presenting "The Music Man Jr." at 7 p.m., in the Meyer Middle School Auditorium, 230 N. Ninth St. Admission is free.
  • Falls Theatre: The Lego Movie at 7 and 9 p.m. See a preview at www.fallstheatre.com.

  • Library lower level exhibit: Pen & Ink, with a Side of Metal: Philip Colpitts and the Metalsmiths’ Guild. Featuring a body of work by Philip Colpitts, and three-dimensional contributions by metalsmiths through March 2.
  • Saturday:

    • Nickolas’ Gift fundraiser: The 13th annual fundraiser will be held from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m., at Johnnie's Bar, 116 N Main St. There will be raffles, pool tournament, and food. More information at www.nickolasgift.org.
    • Open Skate: From 12:30-2 p.m. at W.H. Hunt Arena on the UWRF campus.
    • Falls Theatre: The Lego Movie at 2, 7 and 9 p.m. See a preview at www.fallstheatre.com.
    • UWRF women’s basketball game: At 3 p.m. versus Platteville at the Kargas Center on the UWRF campus.
    • Swing dance: The Wildcat Band Boosters will be sponsoring the annual Swing Dance from 6:30-9 p.m., in the River Falls High School commons. There will be performances by the RFHS Jazz Ensembles and special guests the After Hours Big Band. Tickets are $5 for adults, $3 for students, with a $15 family maximum. Pie, coffee and pop available for purchase at the concession stand.

    • Katrina victims fundraiser: Members of First Congregational United Church of Christ will take a trip to Biloxi, Miss., March 15-22. Twenty-six people will paint and reconstruct houses still damaged by Hurricane Katrina. First Congregational brings a youth group to Biloxi every two years over spring break. To raise money for this year’s trip, the group will hold a shrimp boil Sunday, Feb. 23 at Frist Congregational Church, 110 3rd St. The meal is $12 for adults, $6 for kids age 5-12, and free for 4 and under. The menu includes gulf shrimp, salad, bread and dessert. The meal is at 6 p.m., a program about the Back Bay Mission is 7-7:30 p.m. Tickets are available at the First Congregational office and must be purchased in advance.

    • Spaghetti Dinner: Benefitting Five Loaves Food Shelf, at St. Luke's Lutheran Church in New Richmond. Serving begins at 4:30 p.m. and runs until 7 p.m. Enjoy all you can eat spaghetti served with salad, garlic toast & homemade desserts. Adults are $7, kids 4-12 years $3 and under 3 are free.     Saturday:

    • Libertarian Party Pierce-St. Croix 2nd Annual Convention: At the Orchard in Baldwin. The event goes from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., with lunch round table starting at 11:30 a.m., which will feature a “The Damages of Victimless Crime” presentation from 9-11 a.m. and a “State and Local Government: What a Libertarian government looks like at Street Level.” Membership is not required to attend and there is no RSVP needed. There is no cost for the event, but lunch is available at your discretion.
    • 9-Hole Cabin Fever Classic Indoor Mini-Golf: In area New Richmond pubs. The event is being put on by the New Richmond Area Chamber of Commerce and will go through nine area pubs starting at noon on Feb. 22. Check-in is 10:30 a.m. The cost is $140 per team of four golfers and a sober Caddy. The 21-plus event includes golf, dinner and prizes.     • Sportsman’s Banquet: At 3:30 p.m., dinner at 6 p.m. at Hudson High School. Grand prizes include guns, crossbow, bow, and many others.
