Virginia Toston, 85

Virginia "Tia" Toston, 85, a resident of Sunny Ridge Health and Rehabilitation Center in Sheboygan, died peacefully on Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2009, surrounded by her loving family.

Virginia was born on Sept. 19, 1923, in Sheboygan, to Leonard and Marie (Flink) Eversdyk.

She attended Sheboygan schools, graduating from Sheboygan North.

Virginia married Arthur "Bud" Toston on Jan. 22, 1944, in Sheboygan, where he was a long time employee of the Vollrath Company. Bud and Tia moved to River Falls in 1969.

Virginia was an active member of the Luther Memorial Lutheran Church in River Falls, once hosting missionaries from Taiwan. Virginia also shared a passion for bowling, playing bridge, golf and fishing with her longtime friends and loving family.

Virginia will be remembered as a loving wife and mother who always thought of the needs and happiness of others first. She will be deeply missed by family and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter Jean Klabechek; granddaughter Kelly Bogart; sisters: Marie Wester, Margaret Grasse, Elizabeth Praeger, Johanna Lueth, Josephine Schipper, Dorothy Stengel and Marion Heilberger, and brothers: Leonard and Albert Eversdyk.

Virginia is survived by her children: Judy (Chuck) Dunton of Sheboygan, Pat (Randy) Leon of Sheboygan, Rick Toston of Hudson, and Tom (Karin) Toston of Glenwood City; six grandchildren: Wendy Vanderhof, Jody Post, Becky Prusow, Timothy Landin Scott Lope and Todd Klabechek. She is further survived by 11 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and close friends.

Funeral services for Virginia were held on Saturday, Aug. 22, at Luther Memorial Lutheran Church in River Falls, with Rev. Michael Scholz officiating. Burial was at Greenwood Cemetery.

Memorials are preferred directed to the Luther Memorial Lutheran Church.
