Update: River Falls School District unveils five-year blueprint
With the school board's approval Monday night, the River Falls School District has officially added 39 action plans as part of its overall stragic planning. Citizen groups have been hard at work for months to hammer out details. Superintendent Tom Westerhaus calls them his "marching orders."
They include establishing a K-12 foreign language curriculum, community education for lifelong learning, after-school enrichment and homework classes for middle school students, and intramural sports.
Westerhaus said implementing the Action Plans List will be gradual. He added it will help define the school district and has marketing potential to attract parents of school-age children.
