UPDATE: Harsdorf wins Wisconsin Senate race

With 86% of voting units in the district reporting, at 11:30 p.m. Sheila Harsdorf, who has represented the 10th District in the Wisconsin Senate since 2001 and survived a recall attempt last year, had won re-election.

At that point, Harsdorf had 45,328 votes to 29,436 for her challenger, Daniel C. Olson.

In St. Croix County with all voting units reporting, Harsdorf had 27,988 votes to Olson's 16,924. In Pierce County, only the city and town of River Falls are in the 10th District. In that county, Harsdorf had 3,240 voted to Olson's 3,280.

Harsdorf, 56, a Republican from town of River Falls, is running for her fourth term in the Senate.

Olson, 43, a political newcomer, is a world history and government teacher in St. Croix Falls School District. He has been a member of the Wisconsin Army National Guard since 1989.

The 10th District includes the town and city of River Falls in Pierce County; most of St. Croix County, including the cities of Hudson and New Richmond; part of Dunn County, including the city of Menomonie; and most of Polk and Burnett counties.
