UPDATE: Ellsworth man in fair condition following rollover early Sunday

An Ellsworth man spent an unknown period of time trapped in his overturned car in freezing temperatures early Sunday before being freed by firefighters and being transported to Regions Hospital in St. Paul.

Andrew F. Lacoursiere, 49, was apparently westbound on Hwy. 10 near the intersection with CTH J early Sunday morning when his vehicle left the road and struck trees and two lawn ornaments, according to the Pierce County Sheriff's Department.

The accident was was reported at 7:40 a.m.

Lacoursiere was transported directly to Regions by the Ellsworth Area Ambulance Service with undetermined injuries. A spokesman for Health Partners said Lacoursiere was in fair condition mid-morning Monday.

Ellsworth firefighters assisted at the scene with extrication, according to deputy Bruce Von Haden.
