Elsewhere last week police:

  • Chased on foot a 22-year-old Ellsworth man who fled from a possible downtown fight at Boomer's Bar at 1 a.m. Friday. The chase led to the 300 block of Elm Street where the suspect ran through yards and vaulted a fence. When told to stop by an officer, the man looked back, laughed and said, "Good luck."

However, he was soon caught, taken to the ground, handcuffed, with one officer pointing a Taser gun at him. The Ellsworth man racked up $417 in fines before being released.

  • Arrested a 33-year-old local man for disorderly conduct downtown at 2 a.m. Saturday. The man had been in a fight but then became disorderly with police, swearing loudly, flailing his arms and swinging his elbows. The arresting officer said the suspect later banged his head on the hood of a squad car and started screaming, "Owie, owie!"

After being threatened with jail, the man was given a $177 fine and released.

  • Cited a 20-year-old local man for exhibition of power -- twice in the same night -- on South Main Street. The man was stopped for revving his truck at 2:40 a.m. Saturday. He said the truck wasn't his and he wasn't used to the shift lever. Less than an hour later, he was stopped again while leaving Kwik Trip. This time he said he couldn't help it, it was just a loud truck. The officer listened but said the noise was due to the man revving the engine. He was given two $114 fines.

--Arrested a 34-year-old Milwaukee man for drunk driving and possession of drug paraphernalia last week Tuesday night after allegedly making an illegal U-turn at Main and Walnut streets. During a search of the man's pockets, officers said they recovered a small tin with a Care Bear image that held marijuana. That was seized as part of the evidence. The man was given fines totaling more than $1,100.
