Thomas Patrick Murphy, age 63, of River Falls, Wis., died Friday, June 7, at The Lutheran Home, River Falls.
Tom was born on April 27, 1950, in La Crosse, Wis., the son of Donald and Idamae (Scherdin) Murphy. He spent his childhood and early years at The Northern Center in Chippewa Falls, Wis. Tom lived his adult life in group homes first in La Crosse, later Menomonie, and then Hudson, Wis., where he worked for St. Croix Industries. He lived the last 2-1/2 years of his life in the Lutheran Home in River Falls. Tom had a great sense of humor and was always happy.
He is survived by his four sisters and one brother: Donna (Jim) Miller, River Falls; Marguerite (Gene) Brown, Fredonia, Wis.; Millie McKoskey, Burnsville, Minn.; Alice (Dave) Cepek, Woodbury, Minn.; Don (Kay) Murphy, La Crosse. He is further survived by many nieces and nephews.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Patricia Flynn.
A Mass of Christian Burial was at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 9, at St. Bridget Catholic Church, River Falls. Burial was in the church cemetery. Visitation was for 1 hour prior to the Mass at the church on Sunday.
