Teen charged with sex assault of child
Mark C. Holmquist, 18, 744 Oriole Ln., Hudson, has been charged with one count of second-degree sexual assault of a child.
According to the criminal complaint, the incident dates to November 2006, when a 13-year-old girl allegedly said the two of them had sex in River Falls.
As she was first questioned by River Falls police, the girl never said it was Holmquist because she didn't want to "nark" on him. However, she did express concern that he was going to get in trouble.
The girl said she knew her perpetrator was 18. At the same time, she believed the perpetrator knew she wasn't 18 because there's no way she could pass for 18.
She also admitted the sex was consensual and unprotected, and she wasn't concerned about getting pregnant because she would have an abortion.
When questioned later in December, the girl admitted to having sex with Holmquist and now said he was her boyfriend.
She explained the two had been dating for around a month and they had sex about seven times, including the one time listed in the complaint. No alcohol was used during those incidents.
This isn't the first time Holmquist has caught the attention of law enforcement. In 2005 and 2006, he pled guilty to disorderly conduct each year in St. Croix County. Last year he pled guilty to theft from Racine County.
In regard to the latest charge, his next scheduled court appearance is 1:45 p.m. Thursday, April 12, for a preliminary hearing.
