Take Back the Night 2012 pulls River Falls community together
Dozens of residents and college students took to Main Street on Thursday, April 26 for Take Back the Night 2012. Their message was clear - sexual violence is not okay.
Typically a crime of silence, with 97% of rapists, never being prosecuted, Take Back the Night is a way to say "You are not alone and we, as a community, don't accept this violence."
Ralliers were encouraged to make t-shirts and signs. During the night there was live music, speeches and food donated by local restaurants.
While marching, participants chanted, "2,4,6,8; no more date rape" and "Survivors unite, Take Back the Night."
