"The meet against Menomonie gave many guys the chance to step up and swim in events that were new to them," head coach Brady McAdams said.

Among the swimmers who cut time was heath Westberg, who dropped 16 seconds in the 200 freestyle to finish second with a time of 2 minutes, 23.51 seconds. Westberg also cut over a second off his previous best in the 100 breaststroke to finish third in 1:24.67.

David Benitez Doce cut a second in the 50 freestyle to take fourth in 28.28 seconds, while Tyler Admundson dropped over 5 seconds in the 100 backstroke to take fifth in 1:23.07.

"Shamus Maloney, Garrett Williams, Stephen Slivicki and Tyler Admundson all dropped over a second in the 100 free," McAdams added.

Saturday at the Husky Invite in Eau Claire, River Falls finished fifth with a total of 142 points. Eau Claire took first with 396 followed by Chippewa Falls with 303, Hudson with 202 and Superior with 167.

"The invite is a precursor to the BRC meet, which is coming Feb. 6 to River Falls High School," McAdams said. "Some of the major improvements were Isaac Dzubay, who dropped over a second in the 200 free, Brad Kessler, who dropped over a second in the 200 IM, David Benitez Doce, who dropped over eight seconds in the 100 free, Austin Saari, who dropped over a second in his 100 backstroke, and Tyler Amundsen, who dropped 4.5 seconds on his 100 breaststroke."

Roland Pomfret had the highest individual finish of the meet, taking third in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:53.73.
