This introduction lays the groundwork for intervening with distressed students/individuals. The QPR (Question-Persuade-Refer) approach recognizes that everyone has a stake in saving a life.

QPR involves learning the steps to ask (Question) if a person is suicidal, encouraging (Persuade) getting help, and assisting with connecting (Refer) to the appropriate resources for support. Presentation goals include discussion of the prevalence of suicidality among the college population and applications of QPR.

Call Alice Reilly-Myklebust, UWRF Student Health and Counseling Services, 715-425-3293 for more information.
