Steven Cernohous, 60
Steven was born to Marvin and Wanda Cernohous on Aug. 16, 1947, in River Falls.
He passed away in peace on June 22, 2008, at his home surrounded by his immediate family.
He served honorably in Vietnam before moving his family to Fresno, Calif., in 1974.
He was a distinguished graphic designer and amateur artist of clay and paint. He owned his own graphic arts business in Fresno for 25 years before moving to Sacramento.
His sense of humor and smile were contagious and as such, was loved by all that met him. He enjoyed many things in life including golf, gardening, and reading crime novels, but most of all he loved his family, especially his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Marvin Cernohous of River Falls.
He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Mary Jo (MJ) Cernohous of Antelop (suburb of Sacramento), Calif.; his son and family: Steve, Jenn, Bryson and Jack Cernohous of Flagstaff, Ariz.; his daughter and family: Jacki, Scott, Skylar and Nathan Golding of Roseville, Minn.; his mother, Wanda Cernohous of River Falls; his brothers: Gene and Debbie Cernohous of River Falls, Tom and Karen Cernohous of Prescott, Frank and Lois Cernohous of River Falls, and Bob and Immaculata Cernohous of Rochester, Minn.; and his sisters: Pat Spray of Hudson, Sue and Dennis Schendel of River Falls, and Cathy and Ed Miller of River Falls.
A memorial service was held on Tuesday, July 1, at St. Bridget Catholic Church in River Falls.
Interment was at East Lawn Sierra Hills Memorial Park in Carmichael, Calif.
