Shoplifter seemed most concerned about smelling good
A 24-year-old Coon Rapids, Minn., man was stopped after he tried walking out of Dick's Fresh Market, 1121 S. Main St., last Thursday afternoon, April 18, without paying for a bottle of aftershave. The container of Afta allegedly was in his hand. A clerk called River Falls police. Back inside the store, it was found the man also had an unpaid four-pack of Ivory soap inside his coat.
The suspect was handcuffed and brought to the police station.
He was given a $177 municipal citation and, from the local grocery store, a one-year no-trespass notice.
--Arrested and jailed a 27-year-old local woman for domestic disorderly conduct in the 800 block of South Wasson Lane Sunday morning, April 21. The alleged victim is the assailant's 24-year-old girlfriend, who said the two got into an argument about bills and drug use that became violent.
The victim said her girlfriend, at one point, grabbed handfuls of knives and was stabbing at her. She fled and ran away to an ex-girlfriend's house. Officers also gathered drug-related evidence at the scene. The case goes to the district attorney.
--Cited a 13-year-old Meyer Middle School female student for drug paraphernalia possession at the school last week Tuesday afternoon, April 16. The girl and a friend were allegedly caught toking from a pot pipe in one of the girls' bathrooms. The pipe with marijuana residue was recovered.
