Shirley Junkman, 92
Heaven is rejoicing the return of its sweetest soul, Shirley (Walker) Junkman, who passed away on June 20 at age 92.
Shirley was born Oct. 24, 1920 in Centuria, Wis., to George and Ethel (Blanding) Walker. Shirley achieved the State Teacher's Certificate from River Falls State Teachers College in 1944. She married Bill Junkman on Feb. 16, 1945. She worked 22 years for the River Falls school district as a supervisor of the reading center at Westside.
She is survived by her children: Ann (Howie) Viita, Minneapolis, Minn.; Sue (Monte) Hansen, River Falls, Wis.; William (Deborah) Junkman, Winter, Wis.; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Bill, in 2010; her parents; her daughter Mary Jo; and her sister Grace.

Funeral services for Shirley will be held from 3-5 p.m. Monday, July 1, at the American Legion in River Falls, and internment will follow at the Greenwood Cemetery.
