Services set for William R. Junkman, 91
William R. (Bill) Junkman age 91 of River Falls passed away Thursday, Jan. 28. He was born April 28 1918 in Beldenville.
He was preceded in death by his parents Ray and Mabel (Kirschgessner) Junkman; brothers Wayne, Howard and Frederick; and daughter, Mary Jo.
He is survived by wife Shirley; children: Ann (Howie) Viita, Sue (Monte) Hansen, William (Deborah) Junkman; brother, Paul; sister, Lois (Guy) Smith; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Bill was a World War II Silver Star recipient and widely decorated for valor and bravery. He was a Retired Chief Warrant Officer 4 for River Falls 32nd First Infantry.
He retired after 36 years of military service and 20 years at 3M and his personal business, Greenwood Appliance.
He was the kindest, bravest and strongest man we knew and will be sorely missed.
Memorial Services will be held Sunday, Feb. 14 from 2-4:30 at the American Legion, followed by interment at Greenwood Cemetery.
