SCVRJ holds a walk to remember loved ones
About 75 people gathered Saturday evening, Aug. 3, near the White Pathway to remember their loved ones who died tragically through the annual Walk for Awareness sponsored by the St. Croix Valley Restorative Justice Program. The event, honoring the lives of those lost and raising awareness of untimely deaths with such causes as car accidents, drunk driving, homicide, suicide and drug overdose.
Event-goers walked the White Pathway with luminaries in hand, and paused to view posters depicting lost loved ones. Participants could place their luminaries at the base of posters to honor the lost one pictured.
The event was hosted by St. Croix Valley Restorative Justice, with help form from sponsors including Allina Hospitals and The River Falls Clinic, food donations Bos and Mine, and various businesses that donated door prizes.
